Baghdad Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan said that the region is “entering a dangerous stage with Iran accelerating its nuclear activities.”
“Iran must quickly stop activities that violate the nuclear agreement,” Bin Farhan was quoted by Reuters as saying on Friday.
Regarding the talks between Riyadh and Tehran, the Saudi minister explained that “they were friendly, but did not achieve tangible progress.”
The last round of Saudi-Iranian talks was held on September 21, and another round is expected to be held soon.
“Bloomberg” News Agency reported earlier this week that Iran had asked Saudi Arabia to reopen the Saudi and Iranian consulates in Jeddah and Mashhad, and to resume diplomatic relations as a prelude to ending the war in Yemen.
