Riyadh, Saudi Grains Organization (SAGO) held here yesterday its 187th session chaired by Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture and SAGO's Chairman of the Board of Directors Eng. Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadhli.
The meeting discussed different topics on the agenda including SAGO strategies, the privatization of flour milling sector and other topics.
The Minister said that the organization's strategies will cover the food security needs and grains sector in line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030, adding that the privatization of flour milling sector project is in its last phases.
SAGO Governor Eng. Ahmad bin Abdulaziz Al-Faris said that SAGO has imported 202,150 tons of local wheat from 930 farmers through its different branches in the Kingdom's regions, while 3,360,000 tons of wheat and 5,290,000 tons of barley were imported, which comes within the framework of meeting local demand and maintaining strategic stocks.
