Houston, Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Space Commission, said that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is proud to establish a national space commission, with the support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and his conviction of the importance of this large sector, in transforming scientific, technical and economic fields, in the Kingdom.

He added that the Kingdom considers this sector as important to be a significant contributor to the world space scene, stressing that the Kingdom will utilize the space sector as a peaceful scientific field, to benefit all mankind.

Mentioning the, recently, co-signed agreement between the Saudi Space Commission and its Russian counterpart, in the presence of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Russian President, in Riyadh, which aims to support scientific research and manned space flight, he pointed out that there are many cooperation agreements with several countries.

This came in a speech during a dinner ceremony sponsored by the Saudi Space Commission here, organized by the Association of Space Explorers, in collaboration of Saudi Aramco, on the occasion of the Association of Space Explorers' 32nd Planetary Congress, in the presence of Prince Turki Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of the Board of Directors of King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies and Princess Reema bint Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Saudi ambassador to the United States of America.

The ceremony was attended by 130 astronauts, from around the world, including Russia, USA and many other countries.
