Riyadh - Muhannad Al-Malki, a member of the Saudi surfing team, has made history by becoming the first Saudi athlete to represent the country in the International Surfing Association (ISA) World Para Surfing Championship for People with Special Needs. The event, which concluded Monday in Huntington Beach, California, saw the participation of over 180 surfers from 27 countries.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Fernando Aguerre, President of the ISA, expressed his delight at welcoming Saudi Arabia into the surfing community for people with special needs. He noted that the Kingdom's debut in this year's competition is significant, praising Al-Malki's performance, especially considering it was his first time competing at such a level.
