House Speaker, Nabih Berri, on Wednesday received at the Second Presidency in Ain el-Tineh, the Ambassador of Qatar, Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman bin Faisal Al Thani. Discussions between the pair reportedly touched on the general situation in Lebanon and the broader region, political developments, in addition to the bilateral relations between Lebanon and Qatar. Speaker Berri also received in Ain-el-Tineh, the Secretary General of Tashnag Party, MP Hagop Pakradounian, with whom he discussed the current general situation and legislative affairs. Caretaker Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, met with Egyptian Ambassador to Lebanon, Alaa Moussa, at the Grand Serail on Wednesday. In the wake of the meeting, the Egyptian diplomat told reporters that "the purpose of the meeting with the Prime Minister was to brief him on the overall developments regarding the Gaza ceasefire negotiations and the role Egypt and the mediator are playing in that respect." He added that talks also touched on an array of affairs, namely the presidential file. "I informed the PM of the Quint activities and the steps it intends to make as of next week," he said. Mikati later met with French Ambassador to Lebanon, Hervé Magro, over the latest developments and the Lebanese-French bilateral relations. The Prime Minister also met with Caretaker Minister of State for Administrative Development, Najla Riachi,with whom he discussed relevant ministry issues. Mikati later received former MP Bahia Hariri. The PM also held a meeting with President of the Lebanese University, Dr. Bassam Bad ran, and the Association of Full-Time Professors at the Lebanese University, headed by Dr. Antoine Charbel.
